In math, the Order of Operations is the rule we follow to make sure we solve math problems in the right order. It helps us know which operations to do first when there are multiple steps in a problem.
The order is remembered with the acronym PEMDAS:
P = Parentheses (Do what’s inside the parentheses first)
E = Exponents (Next, solve powers or square roots)
MD = Multiplication and Division (From left to right, whichever comes first)
AS = Addition and Subtraction (From left to right, whichever comes first)
